14 November 2022, Ranchi: On the occasion of Children’s Day and Child Development Week (14-20 Nov’22) observance by UNICEF, the child reporters promoted under Child Reporters program by NBJK with support of UNICEF Jharkhand, met Mr. Ravindranath Mahto (Hon. Speaker, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly) at his office.
Hon. Speaker has greeted the child reporters and motivated them to overcome various obstacles on the way of study, dutifulness and good thoughts with action. He wished the children for success and endorsed a favourable environment to ensure their rights, self-respect, better education and health.
20 Child Reporters from 7 blocks of Ranchi district have participated in this learning visit; they introduced themselves, shared about their social interventions and asked questions to Hon. Speaker.
Baby Anamika from Govt. School, Itki has explained about an incident when she initiated against a child marriage in her neighborhood and could save the girl going to be married forcefully. Also Baby Trisha from Angada and Baby Lakshmi from Ormanjhi have briefed about the steps they took as child reporters against cases of Child Labour and School Dropout.
The children put the issues like negative view upon their intervention, social disparity for women-girls, malnourished children and dissemination of the message on child rights before Hon. Speaker.
He listened to children patiently, accepted their points, stressed over collective effort against social taboos and informed about the steps being taken by the government. Hon. Speaker said that childhood is a precious gift; it must be saved delicately and needs proper guidance without hurting freedom of the children.

11-12 November 2022, Giridih: Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) has visited at Mission Rozgar Training Center-Giridih. This is being run by NBJK under UTI Mutual Fund supported Young India project.
He met trainee youths, faculties and observed the activities of MRTC. Mr. Satish Girija suggested exploring new venues for placement of trained youths under different trades offered by the center.
Till this month, total 125 youths could get employment after their training for General Duty Assistant, Basic Computer Applications, Beautician & Bridal Makeup and Account Executive by MRTC-Giridih.
Next day, an exposure was conducted for 20 trainees from the courses of BCAs & Account Executive. The trainees, concerned faculties and placement officer went to P-Bazar, a mall at the city. They interacted with the manager and collected information about job opportunities there.
12 November 2022, Amrit Nagar (Hazaribagh): Under Action Village India supported programme of Community Action-Small Initiatives by NBJK, a two-days workshop on Gender Mainstreaming concluded today.
Mrs. Pooja Sinha and Mrs. Pushpa Devi, involved as resource persons, exposed the participants to the understanding of sex & gender, differences, gender norms, gender based discrimination and its impacts on various levels. The upcoming activities were also discussed on the occasion.
A total of 22 persons including representatives from the VOs like Lok Shakti Shikshan Kendra (Paraiya, Gaya), Gram Nirman Kendra (Wazirganj, Gaya), Lok Prerna Kendra (Simaria, Chatra), Vikas Foundation (Jarmundi, Dumka), Stri Shakti (Hazaribagh) and teachers-girl students from Remedial Coaching Centres across Hazaribagh by NBJK in collaboration with AVI, have ensured their participation in the workshop.
Mr. Rajiv Singh, Ms Devyani Sarkar and Mr. Abhay Kumar from NBJK had major roles in organizing the event.
09 November 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): NBJK run Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) has organized online Motivational class for its students.
Mr. Srijon & team from USA interacted with the school children to develop their Spoken English & General Knowledge.

09 November 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited-Ranchi, a Mini Ratna Company & subsidiary of Coal India Limited under Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, has provided 100% scholarship in course fee and 75% in hostel charges for 20 meritorious students from SC, ST, OBC, EWS categories to study in Diploma Course of Ophthalmic Assistant at LNJP Paramedical Institute by NBJK.
The Govt. of Jharkhand recognized LNJPPI is situated in the campus of NBJK’s LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh) and runs in close coordination with the eye hospital.
Ms. Suman Rastogi (Chief Manager-CSR, CMPDIL) arrived at LNJPPI, met the students supported by CMPDIL and motivated them to perform better with the scholarship program.
Earlier she has been greeted by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK), Mr. Anand Abhinav (Program Director, NBJK), LNJPEH management team and teachers-students of LNJPPI.
08 November 2022, Hazaribagh: As an activity of Usha Silai School program by NBJK with support of Usha International Limited, a 9-days residential sewing/tailoring training has been started on 7th November for 11 women as 10 women from Giridih Sadar, Bengabad & Jamua blocks of Giridih district and 01 woman from Ichak block of Hazaribagh district under classical & adopted segments respectively.
The training was inaugurated by Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK) who encouraged the trainees and called tailoring as a suitable means of self-employment. He said that some trained women under the program earn even Rs. 20-25,000 monthly and run their families in a better way. Mr. Felix Tirkey (State Program Manager), Mrs. Renu Devi (Master Trainer) and Mr. Kamaljeet Sharma (Service Engineer) from Usha International were present on the occasion.
During the training, trainee women will learn about different parts of the sewing machine, their assembling & minor repair as well as designs, cutting & making of various popular apparels with customer handling skills to become full time professional tailors.
After completion of their training, each trainee will get a new Usha sewing machine, a signage board of Usha Silai School, service mannual book, syllabus, guidebook and certificate as they are supposed to initiate Usha Silai School at their own places.
From NBJK, Mr. Shailesh Kumar (Project Coordinator) and Mr. Ankit Anurag (Project Manager) contribute to the training.
05 November 2022, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): NBJK run Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School has organized Inter-house Volleyball tournament among its Gandhi, Tagore, Subhash & JP Houses.
During hits, JP house has defeated Gandhi house while Tagore house lost the match played with Subhash house. Final game was very interesting and played between JP house and Subhash house but JP house won the match by 25-16 & 25-11.
Ms. Reena Pandey (Principal, SPBPS) has awarded the trophy to the winner house and appreciated all participant teams for their spirit. She blessed all players and wished them to follow discipline with rules for success in their lives.
Among the players, Sawan with Sumant, Uday (all from class IX C), Tanishk (IX A), Anurag (VIII C), Niket & Ritik (both from IX B) have performed well.
The sports/PT teachers like Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Mr. Santosh Chourasiya and Mr. Umesh Bhagat were referees of this event while other teachers as Mr. Bhola Sinha, Mr. Vyas Pandey, Mr. Ajit Pandey, Mr. Shankar Singh, Mr. Amit Kumar, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, Mrs. Purnima Kumari, Ms. Lata Kumari, Ms. Amrita Mashy, Mrs. Pramila Kumari, Mr. Shailendra Guru, Mr. Vijay Mahto, Mr. Jwala Singh have contributed to make it a success.
04 November 2022, Ranchi-Hazaribagh: NBJK runs two solid waste recycling-cum-demonstration units at Chakla village in Ormanjhi block of Ranchi district. These make Vermicompost from cow dung and Green Millboard by scrap paper.
Last year Vermicompost Unit has prepared 430 MTs Nitrogen added balanced organic manure and frequently used by local farmers, nurseries & agriculture institutions.
On the other hand, 217.96 Metric Tonnes green millboard has been made by Millboard Unit. This good quality millboard is ideal for bookbinders, conservationists, box makers and framers seeking an eco-friendly board. The recycled material is being delivered to 22 districts of Jharkhand-Bihar.
These solid waste recycling units propagate the very idea of waste to wealth and contribute to environment conservation too.
Besides this under Clean Jharkhand phase-2 program, NBJK provides sanitation service like cleanliness, housekeeping, drainage cleaning, waste collection & delivery for two institutional clients at Hazaribagh. It collects about 50 tonnes waste annually and hands over to Municipal Corporation.
All these initiatives are self-sustained and create employment for nearly 40 persons.
03 November 2022, Patna: A small boy namely Divyanshu Kumar is only 6 years old. He lives with his parents Mrs. Madhvi Sinha and Mr. Sanjay Sinha at Mogalpura slum locality of Patna.
Divyanshu was unable to walk or even sit properly as his both legs are polio stricken. The team of Sakcham program with support of KNH-Germany by NBJK at Patna has identified him during a survey.
The child comes from a poor family, his father is daily wager and mother lives in home. The parents couldn’t make disability certificate for their physically challenged son and Sakcham staffs have initiated the process.
In that course, when they took the child to Patna Medical College & Hospital, concerned doctors assured for recovery. After proper assessment, the doctors did corrective surgery and Sakcham provided financial support of Rs. 2000 for the purpose. After surgery, physiotherapy started and the project’s special educator ensured his therapy on regular basis.
That brought positive changes for Divyanshu. He started walking with support. Soon he got a pair of calipers and now can walk himself, does his routine works as well as helps his mother to accomplish petty jobs.
When Divyanshu was presented to the doctors for review checkup, they admitted him for 8 days again, provided special physiotherapy & shoes. Presently Divyanshu is far better and the parents are happy.
24 October 2022, Giridih-Deoghar: In the month of October, Vimla RamKrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital has organized 25 eye screening camps in the villages of Deoghar and Giridih districts. The eye hospital is being run by NBJK as the 4th unit of LNJP Eye Hospital after Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh), Dumka and Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya).
The camps have been organized with Community Awareness & Household Screening mode and covered Dhanotand, Nayatand, Dhotho, Badadiha, Pindatand, Manditand, Majhijhar, Paudya, Tilya, Ghoranji, Talmakhri, Parmindih, Parminbad, Laghotaridih, Fataha villages of Jamua & Giridih Sadar blocks of Giridih district.
Likewise in Deoghar district, it took place at Lakhoria, Kurmidih, Jhiluachandih, Saraskunj, Pandeydih, Khoripanan, Rohini, Shankari, Gangty and Durgapur of Deoghar Sadar & Madhupur blocks.
During the month till 23 October, the screening camps have ensured eye checkup for 805 persons suffering from Cataract, Refractive Error, Pterygium & other eye diseases. There were 330 patients detected with Cataract, 370 with Refractive Error, 28 with Pterygium and 77 with others.
In Deoghar, medicines were provided to 77 patients. All Cataract ridden & 57 with various vision problems suffering patients from both the districts have been referred to the base hospital for their treatment.
