08 May 2026, Chutiya (Ranchi): With support from Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra, the Asian Development Bank Institute organized a two-day training program on Digital Literacy for 40 women entrepreneurs associated with the Usha Silai School Program from Ranchi, Khunti and Lohardaga districts of Jharkhand.
The training was conducted on 7–8 May 2026 at Hotel Blue Shivalik under Project Asha of Usha International Limited. These women entrepreneurs had earlier completed comprehensive tailoring training under the Usha Silai School Program implemented by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra with support from Usha International Limited.
During the training, participants were introduced to various features and practical applications of mobile phones, internet services and Artificial Intelligence tools. The sessions also covered financial literacy, information about government welfare schemes and ways to enhance entrepreneurial and business management skills. The objective of the training was to strengthen digital inclusion and improve the capacity of women entrepreneurs to use technology and financial knowledge for their personal and professional growth.
The training sessions were facilitated by Ankita Tiwari and Mohsin Khan from Haqdarshak. They were supported by Felix Tirkey, State Program Officer-UIL, and Shailesh Kumar, Program Coordinator-NBJK.
The initiative reflects the collective effort of partner organizations towards promoting digitally empowered, financially aware and self-reliant rural women entrepreneurs in Jharkhand.
07 May 2026, Dumka: A core team meeting of Dumka District Lok Samiti was recently held at Birajpur in Jarmundi block of Dumka district under the chairmanship of District General Secretary Shri Bhagwat Ravidas. Jharkhand Pradesh Lok Samiti Convener Shri Shankar Rana was also present during the meeting.
The meeting discussed organizational expansion, membership campaign activities, preparations for the upcoming Lok Samiti Foundation Day on 30 June 2026, and spreading awareness about cataract surgery in the region with the support of Loknayak Jayaprakash Eye Hospital, Dumka, operated by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK).
After detailed deliberations, several resolutions were unanimously passed. These included launching a membership drive in rural areas, reconnecting with former members, introducing youths to the ideology of Lok Samiti, collecting membership fees, and organizing a district-level meeting on 11 June 2026.
The committee also decided to establish a district-level emergency fund to support members during emergencies and to hold district meetings every third month regularly. It was further resolved that Dumka District Lok Samiti would actively participate in the Jharkhand State-level conference to be held in Ranchi on 30 June 2026 on the occasion of Lok Samiti Foundation Day.
On the same occasion, District General Secretary Shri Bhagwat Ravidas will be honored for his selfless contribution to social service.
Among others present in the meeting were Smt. Asha Devi, Shri Jayanarayan Mandal, Shri Narayan Kapri, Shri Ghanshyam Bandhu, Shri Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Shri Parshuram Prasad and Shri Chander Das. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Shankar Rana.
04 May 2026, Deoghar: Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital (VRBEH), Deoghar, run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), continues to expand access to quality eye care services in underserved rural areas of Bihar and Jharkhand.
During the period from 18 to 29 April 2026, the hospital organized six eye screening camps in remote villages across Chandan, Mohanpur, Chakai and Jamua blocks, covering Banka, Deoghar, Jamui and Giridih districts. These camps facilitated the examination of 134 patients, leading to the identification of 56 cases of refractive error, 38 cataract cases, and 1 case of pterygium. Medicines were provided to 21 patients, while 13 individuals were referred to the base hospital for advanced treatment.
In addition, VRBEH’s Vision Centre at Jamua (Giridih) extended services to 80 villagers over seven working days. The centre detected 49 cases of refractive error, 14 cataract cases, and 2 cases of pterygium, ensuring timely diagnosis and care at the community level.
Through its regular outreach camps and a network of Vision Centres located at Jasidih, Jhajha, and Jamua, the hospital is effectively bringing affordable and accessible eye care services closer to rural populations, reducing preventable vision impairment and blindness.
NBJK remains committed to strengthening community health systems and improving the quality of life for marginalized populations through sustained healthcare interventions.
02 May 2026, Chouparan (Hazaribagh): Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) has successfully provided 6,296 breakfasts and 6,296 lunches to school children in Chouparan block of Hazaribagh district during the period 16–30 April 2026 under the “Feeding India” initiative, a Zomato Giveback program.
The initiative is being implemented across four schools:
Among these, 2,611 children were served at Maangarh, 1,596 at Bahera, 1,223 at Prajapat Nagar, and 866 at Kewaliya.
The meals are designed to ensure balanced nutrition, with sprouted gram or green gram and milk for breakfast, and rice, pulses, and vegetables for lunch. On Saturdays, children are served traditional Khichdi-Chokha.
The program has received an encouraging response, with noticeable improvements in students’ attendance, enthusiasm, and overall school engagement. Children are showing increased interest in attending school regularly, highlighting the positive impact of the initiative.
NBJK expressed its gratitude to all partners and supporters for their continued cooperation in making the program successful and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing child nutrition and education outcomes in the region.
30 April 2026, Murhu: A one-day farmer training program on lac cultivation was successfully organized in Murhu block of Khunti district, benefiting around 230 farmers. The program was conducted by Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Company Ltd. with the support of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) and CInI–Tata Trusts, while benefits of various schemes are being extended to farmers through Sidhcofed.
In addition to this, 60 farmers from the Rania block were also benefitted under the initiative through a 5-day residential training program aimed at providing in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on exposure.
The training in Murhu focused on key aspects of lac production, including scientific cultivation practices, crop management, pruning, pest control, and adoption of modern techniques. The session was led by Mr. Chaitanya Ganjhu along with the Sidhcofed team, who provided detailed technical guidance to the participants.
Ms. Divya Swarup, Chief Executive of MNSKPCL, highlighted that the initiative aims to strengthen farmers’ technical capabilities and enhance their income through improved lac cultivation practices. She also noted that continuous support is being provided to farmers under various schemes.
Following the training, toolkits were distributed among the farmers to facilitate practical application. Each group of 10 farmers received one spray machine, a cutter, and a ladder, while individual farmers were provided with scraping knives, pruning cutters, 200 pieces of net, and necessary plant protection chemicals.
Mr. Sanjay Kandulna and NBJK representative Mr. Ravi Nag were also present and played a key role in the successful execution of the program.
The organizers informed that such training programs will be expanded on a larger scale in the future to benefit more farmers. Additionally, it was announced that Kusumi lac seeds will be distributed free of cost in July at the rate of 55 kg per farmer, further supporting income generation.
Farmers who participated in the program described the training as highly useful and impactful. The initiative is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening lac-based livelihoods in the region.
24 April 2026, Bodhgaya (Gaya): A Dental Health Check-up Camp was successfully organized for school children at Komal Pujan Public School, Silounja (Bodhgaya, Gaya), run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), in collaboration with Universal Dental Institute, Gaya.
During the camp, dental examinations were conducted for 480 students, including 230 girls. Out of them, 55 children were identified with dental problems, while 40 children, particularly among the younger age group, were found to have cavities mainly due to the frequent consumption of chocolates and other sweet items.
In addition, 10 teachers also underwent dental check-ups, of whom 3 were diagnosed with dental issues. The dental team comprising Dr. S. F. Barquat, Dr. (Mrs.) Ellen Erena, and their associates carried out thorough examinations of both students and teachers.
While interacting with the children, the doctors provided practical guidance on maintaining good oral hygiene, including rinsing the mouth properly after meals, avoiding sleeping with sweets in the mouth, brushing teeth regularly in the morning and before bedtime, and following the correct brushing technique.
The camp was organized with the active support of teachers Mr. Harimohan Jha, Mr. Uday Kumar, and Mr. Suraj Kumar. On the occasion, the Principal of the school, Mr. Santosh Kumar Sinha, expressed sincere gratitude to Universal Dental and its dental professionals for conducting this important health initiative. He also informed that a Blood Testing Camp will be organized on 5 May 2026 in the school premises.
24 April 2026, Chouparan (Hazaribagh): Students of Amoli Apurva High School, Mangarh, run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), have achieved commendable success in the Class 10 Board Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). The school recorded an impressive 97% result, reflecting the consistent efforts of students, teachers, and parents.
A total of 127 students from the school appeared in the examination, out of which 74 students secured First Division, demonstrating strong academic performance.
Poonam Chakram emerged as the School Topper by securing 94.2% marks, while Vipasha Gupta secured the second position with 94% marks. Other notable performers include Sulekha Kumari (92.4%), Ayush Rani (90%), Swati Raj (89%), Khushi Kumari (87%), and Ritik Kumar (85.4%).
Adding to the school’s pride, Poonam Chakram and Vipasha Gupta secured 4th and 5th positions respectively among the Top Ten students in Chouparan Block. It is noteworthy that there are around 20 JAC-affiliated schools in the block.
The achievement also highlights encouraging progress in women empowerment and gender equality, as 6 out of the Top 7 students of the school are girls. Furthermore, among the Top 10 rank holders in the block, 9 are girls, reflecting the growing participation and success of girls in education.

21 April 2026, Chouparan (Hazaribagh): Nitesh Kumar, a student of Amoli Apurva High School, Mangarh, operated by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), has brought pride to his school and the entire Chouparan block by achieving success in the Government of Jharkhand’s prestigious “Akanksha” Scheme.
According to the results released by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) following the competitive examination, Nitesh secured an impressive 85th rank across the state. The information was shared by school teacher Mr. Madan Kumar.
As soon as the results were announced, an atmosphere of joy and celebration prevailed in the school. Teachers and students congratulated Nitesh on his remarkable achievement and wished him success in his future endeavors.
It is noteworthy that under the “Akanksha” Scheme, meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds are provided free coaching for competitive examinations such as Medical, Engineering, and CLAT. 17 April 2026, Chouparan, Hazaribagh: Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School, Bahera Ashram, Chouparan, run by Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), has once again brought pride to the region through its outstanding performance in the CBSE Class 10 Board Examination. The consistent academic excellence of the students reflects the school’s commitment to quality education and holistic development.
In the examination, Mohit Kumar secured an impressive 94 percent marks, earning the distinction of School Topper. Gungun Kumari achieved 92 percent marks, securing the second position.
Other meritorious students who performed exceptionally well include Sonam Raj (91%), Anshika Kumari (90%), Shivam Kumar Sao (90%), Piyush Kumar Gupta (89%), Suraj Kumar (89%), Ayush Kumar (88%), Asmita Gupta (87%), and Samar Kumar Sao (87%).

15 April 2026, Hazaribagh: Under the Zomato supported Feeding India initiative, Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) has continued its efforts to provide nutritious meals to school children studying in its schools located in the Chouparan block of Hazaribagh district.
During the period 01 to 15 April 2026, a total of 5,906 breakfasts and 5,910 lunches were served to children across four NBJK-run schools. The initiative aims to improve the nutritional status of children and support their regular attendance and academic performance.
At Amoli Apurva High School, Mangarh, 2,278 breakfasts and an equal number of lunches were distributed during this period. Similarly, 1,645 breakfasts and 1,649 lunches were served to children at Amoli Apurva Middle School, Bahera, while 1,195 breakfasts and the same number of lunches were provided at Amoli Apurva Middle School, Prajapat Nagar. At Chandrakala Devi Daga High School, Kewaliya, 788 breakfasts and an equal number of lunches were served to the students.
Under the Feeding India program, children receive sprouted gram or green gram with milk as breakfast, and rice, pulses, and vegetables as lunch, ensuring that they get balanced and nutritious meals essential for their growth and well-being.
