10 February 2023, Giridih: 20 trainees from the trade of General Duty Assistant at Mission Rozgar Training Centre-Giridih have visited V City Hospital, Giridih to observe basic functioning of any hospital. These trainees belong to 5th batch of MRTC and after completion of their course; they are supposed to join in health sector for job.
At the hospital, Dr. Ashok Verma has greeted them and explained about primary duties of GDA. He motivated the youths and instructed hospital staffs to demonstrate various checkups, tests, real time disease monitoring, waste management etc before the trainees.
Mr. Ranveer Kumar Singh (Placement Officer, MRTC) has arranged the exposure visit. Also Ms. Rumana Azmat (Centre Manager) and Mrs. Roseline Tudu (Faculty, GDA) accompanied the trainees.
It’s significant that MRTCs are being run by NBJK at Giridih, Hazaribagh and Koderma to instill job oriented skills among youths under Young India Programme with support of UTI Mutual Fund.
08 February 2023, Giridih: As an activity of Young India project by NBJK with support of UTI Mutual Fund, Mission Rozgar Training Centre at Makatpur Road in Giridih, has organized Guest Lecture for its 5th batch students yesterday.
On this occasion, Mr. Kumar Gaurav and Mr. Pramod Kumar (Alumni of IIT-ISM, Dhanbad) have addressed the trainees of MRTC. The duo have left their jobs and currently initiated a teaching institute for high level competitive exams.
They shared about their own struggle and motivated the youths for self-employment. Mr. Gaurav and Mr. Pramod said that learning new things are always challenging within a given space but the very use of such acquired knowledge depends upon us. If we invest our skill rationally that can pay back a rich dividend, they mentioned. The guests have praised the way MRTC-Giridih provides skill development training to local youths and supports to get placed.
Earilier Ms. Rumana Azmat (Centre Manager, MRTC), Mrs. Roseline Tudu, Mr. Vishal Kumar, Mr. Pramod Kumar (All Faculties) and Mr. Ranveer Singh (Placement Coordinator) have welcomed the guests with bouquet and introduced them with the trainees.
55 students from the trades of Basic Computer Applications, Beautician, Tally Based Accounting and General Duty/Nursing Assistant have participated in the event.
07 February 2023, Khunti: Under the aegis of Murhu Nari Shakti Kisan Producer Co. Ltd., the FPO promoted under Lakhpati Kisan Smart Village programme by NBJK with support from CInI-Tata Trusts, a range of activities are going on to make people, especially women & girls aware upon Menstrual Health-Hygiene & Cancer. This exercise is titled as Health Care Support to Rural & Tribal Communities in Jharkhand.
As World Cancer Day falls on 4th February, MNSKPCL has organized various activities on this occasion across the villages like Bhonda, Gamharia, Kundi Bartoli, Kitahatu, Gumpudu, Bichna, Pokla, Chhata, Damray, Dolda etc in Murhu block of Khunti district.
The female volunteers & office bearers of MNSKPCL have made villagers including women & adolescent girls aware of the problems caused by ignorance over Menstrual Health and Cancer. They said that still there are myths around menstrual cycle, concerned practices and we must get scientific information on the subject through open discussions. Our coming generation needs a safe environment and freedom from avoidable problems, they talked.
Regarding Cancer, the villagers have been educated upon different points covering causes, types, symptoms and treatment. The health volunteers have warned people for using Tobbaco and suggested to visit nearby hospital if find any symptom. Also they explained about Govt support scheme up to Rs. 5 lakh for any poor Cancer patient and Ayushman Bharat coverage for the disease.
Mrs. Roshni Tirkey and Mrs. Shahin Naz (Coordinators, MNSKPCL) have briefed that total 4,100 women have been provided four modules’ training on menstrual health & hygiene through the company, more than 3000 villagers have received important information about Cancer and MNSKPCL shareholders women avail Health Insurance Coverage of Rs. 5 lakh for each.
Besides this under Cancer intervention, 1000 women went through risk assessment, five camps have been organized with specialist doctors for high risk women and Meharbai Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, Mumbai provides Cancer Care services to some patients.
The entire programme is being supported financially by CInI-Tata Trusts.
06 February 2023, Patna: Mr. Pappu Kumar is 28 years old and lives with his wife and two children at Lohanipur slum locality in Patna. He belongs to SC community, hails from a poor socio-economic family background and migrated from his village in North Bihar. In Patna, he has been settled at his In-laws’ place. During childhood, Pappu became polio stricken and can’t walk properly.
In course of a survey under the programme of Community Based Inclusive Development and Rehabilitation of PwDs by NBJK with support of BAJAJ FINSERV, the programme team has identified Pappu. When asked about his aspirations, he expressed willingness to earn and to support his family.
As per his interest, the programme team has linked Pappu with a local Betel Shop. He worked there for three months as a trainee and learnt some basic skills to run such a shop. This development has made him more confident.
To make Pappu’s life comparatively easy, he has been provided a Tricycle under the programme. When he decided to start own shop, the programme team has encouraged him with a small monetary support and ensured his Tricycle as modified one to go well like a Mobile Betel Shop.
Now Pappu opens up his mobile shop daily, moves from one place to another to find customers, stores daily use items and making sincere efforts to live with dignity. He doesn’t want to be a burden and wishes to lead an independent life. He thanks the programme team for such transformation; he passed through and determined to draw a line.
Pappu’s shop has been inaugurated by a team from Bajaj Finserv. The team members have suggested him to install QR code based payment facility for customers as it’s easy, safe and trendy. Pappu greeted the idea and will do the same very soon.
04 February 2023, Patna: Khushboo Kumari was born at Rampur slum of Patna, belongs to a poor OBC family and recently completed her 24 years. She is a physically challenged youth but struggler and did graduation from Patna University despite difficulties.
In a dreadful incident, Khushboo has lost her right hand at the age of 5 only. She was playing in a nearby ground and opened an unclaimed Tiffin Box out of curiosity. That was a Tiffin Bomb actually and exploded with a great loss to the child Khushboo.
Khushboo has learnt to do her daily activities with left hand only and never became dependent to others. She thanks her parents those motivated her to live an independent life. Her father Shri Om Prakash Mahto is no more and elder sister got married. Khushboo lives with her mother and a younger brother who is enrolled at a local Govt school.
When Bajaj Finserv supported Community Based Inclusive Development & Rehabilitation of PwDs Programme by NBJK has promoted a DPO at Rampur Slum, Khushboo has joined the body as an active member.
During meetings of the DPO, the programme team has noticed her as she used to maintain minutes register very promptly, grasping contents sharply, compassionate and with traits of leadership. Considering her qualities, the programme manager has instructed concerned CBR worker to observe Khushboo as how she spends her spare time etc.
Soon a request message from Khushboo reached to the programme office through the CBR worker that Khushboo is in need of any job with this programme and seeks some monetary support to sustain her family.
The programme team has discussed the issue and consulted higher authorities over Khushboo’s problem. After getting nod, it decided to facilitate Khushboo and she has been provided assistive devices to improve her ADLs. Also she got some basic orientation and has been appointed as a CBR Worker with the programme. Besides this, her mother is linked with the Programme’s Income Generation Activities and now she runs an Egg Shop near her place. Khushboo has availed small seed money to initiate this endeavor.
Khushboo works hard. In daytime, she performs her duty as a CBR worker and at evening she joins her mother at the egg shop. She assists to deal with the customers and contributes a lot to raise her family income.
A physically challenged but mentally strong girl shoulders a duel responsibility well!
02 February 2023, Hazaribagh: Educational tours are being organized for the girl children of Remedial Coaching Centres in Sadar, Churchu and Daru blocks of Hazaribagh district by NBJK under Young India project with support from UTI Mutual Fund.
Today the girl students of RCC located at Turanw village of Sadar Block have visited Birsa Biological Park and Ranchi Aquarium of Ormanjhi (Ranchi) to get information about various animals and plants.
In these educational tours began last month, a total of 489 girl students from 19 RCCs have ensured their participation in four groups along with their respective teachers and enriched their knowledge by observing natural and historical places like Birsa Biological Park, Fish House, Hundru Waterfall, Patratu Dam, Parasnath, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodhgaya etc.
Mr. Parvez Alam (Supervisor, RCCs) says that such activities prove helpful in the mental development of children and soon all enrolled girl students at remaining RCCs will get chance to visit such places.
It’s significant that through YIP, NBJK conducts 30 Remedial Coaching Centers at 29 villages and provides free tuition facility for the subjects like Mathematics, Science and English to around 1000 school girls of classes VIII, IX & X.
01 February 2023, Gaya: NBJK run LokNayak JayPrakash Eye Hospital, Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya) has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Bihar State Swasthya Suraksha Samiti, Govt of Bihar.
This Certificate is awarded to LNJPEH, Kajha for exemplary performance under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as it provided proper treatment to eye patients and restored eyesight to Cataract suffering people. The eye hospital has shown a remarkable result both quality and quantity wise to deliver a comprehensive range of eye care services for poor people.
In a simple ceremony held at the Civil Surgeon office of Gaya (Bihar), Dr. Ranjan Kumar, Civil Surgeon handed over the certificate to Mr. Sukanto Mete (Manager, LNJPEH-Kajha) in presence of Mr. Nalin Maurya (Dist. Coordinator) and Ms. Reena Kumari (Dist. MIS Coordinator) of AB PM-JAY.
Mr. Sukanto said that last year we offered treatment to around 35,000 eye patients and more than 8,000 patients got back their vision after Cataract surgeries at the hospital.
It’s significant that LNJPEH-Kajha has been receiving this honour continuously for the last two years.
31 January 2023, Hazaribagh: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Jharkhand through district administration of Hazaribagh has issued a Citation with Letter of Appreciation to Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) for his valuable contribution to the country’s fight against Tuberculosis as Ni-Kshay Mitra supporting to the Persons with TB undergoing treatment.
It’s noteworthy that Mr. Satish Girija has adopted 05 TB patients from very poor families at Rolla, Kesura and Baheri villages of Hazaribagh Sadar block and provides them nutritious food items every month as a small contribution to the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
In a function held at the assembly hall of collectorate, the Citation & the Letter of Appreciation to Mr. Satish Girija were received by Mr. Rajeev Kumar Singh (Programme Manager, NBJK) on his behalf. Mrs. Nancy Sahay (Deputy Commissioner, Hazaribagh) has handed over the same and praised the role of Ni-Kshay Mitras in elimination of TB from India.
It’s a pleasure that by ensuring community support, over 9.5 lakh tuberculosis patients have been adopted under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
Amoli Apurva Primary School at village-Prajapat Nagar, Mangarh (Choupran, Hazaribagh) is one among eight schools being run by NBJK in rural areas of Jharkhand-Bihar. AAPS addresses the need of primary education for economically backward families from Prajapat Nagar and seven neighboring villages. This co-educational school is from class Nursery to Sixth and 175 students study here. Out of these children, 50 are sponsored and remaining pay a nominal fee.
Due to financial scarcity, AAPS lacks proper infrastructure and there were no ceiling-fans in the class-rooms. It was felt that during summer time classes become hot and inconvenient but because of fund constraints, the management couldn’t do anything.
Around a year back Dr Nand Kumar, his wife Mrs. Chanda Devi and family members have visited the school with Mr. Girija Satish (President, NBJK). They talked to the teachers-students and eventually Dr. Nand Kumar came to know about of the need of ceiling-fans in class-rooms. He took the issue seriously and assured to provide the fans soon.
Within two-three months of the visit, keeping his words Dr. Nand Kumar has donated 10 ceiling-fans to AAPS. Presently all the class-rooms of this school are equipped with fans. Now the children & teachers don’t face any trouble during summer days.
On behalf of the teaching, non-teaching staffs and students of Amoli Apurva Primary School, Prajapat Nagar, NBJK expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Nand Kumar, his better half Mrs. Chanda Devi and their family members for this kind gesture.
30 January 2023, Patna: On Martyrdom Day of Mahatma Gandhi, Bihar State Lok Samiti has organized a mass fasting under the Gandhi statue at Gandhi Maidan, Patna.
This was attended by LS National President Mr. Girija Satish, Coordinator Mr. K. G. Azad, Treasurer Mr. Vinod Sharma, State General Secretary Mr. Shivji Singh, Secretary Mr. Sanwalia Giri, Women’s Lok Samiti Coordinator Mrs. Krani Rashosh, Mrs. Meena Devi, Mrs.Putul Kumari, Mrs. Manorama Devi, Mrs. Manti Verma, Mrs. Shalini Barla, Mrs. Sultan Parveen, Mr. Rahul, Mr. Ramavtar, Mr. James, Mr. Satyaprakash, Mr. Umashankar, Mr. Satyendra, Bihar Sarvodaya Mandal President Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Mr. Maqbul Ahmad, Mr. Subodh Pandey, Mr. Nadeem Khan, Mr. Upendra Kushwaha, Mr. Badal and other delegates from various districts of Bihar.
Mr. Girija Satish has presided the event and said that Bapu was always in favour of communal harmony and India is a secular country where we need to assimilate the Gandhian values of equal respect to all religions, mutual brotherhood, right of equality to women, development of all and freedom from superstition-liquor. He said that due to political reasons, the wind of discrimination and hatred is prevailing in the society, against which this program of Lok Samiti has been organized. Appealing to comply with the prohibition law in Bihar and cooperate with the awareness campaign in the villages, Mr. Girija Satish said that prohibition should be implemented in the entire country.
Mr. Kaushal Ganesh Azad said that this event is against fundamentalism and status quoism. Mr. Shivji Singh was conducting the programme.
In the evening, this collective fast was concluded by drinking juice from the hands of socialist leader Mr. Shivanand Tiwary who stressed on the propagation of Gandhian ideas. Also a tableau was displayed by the youths on this occasion.
