13 December 2023, Hazaribagh: In 2022-23, NBJK achieved significant milestones in Jharkhand and Bihar, uplifting livelihoods and empowering communities:

Farmer Support:

  • Dairy, Irrigation, Poultry Farming, Water Body Revival, Fishery, Pig Rearing, and more bolstered over 10,000 households.

Women Empowerment:

  • 8275 women received skill training, financial aid, and livelihood support, fostering independence and growth.

Youth Development:

  • 1443 youths underwent skill training, with 848 now employed or self-reliant.

Covering districts like Ranchi, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar, Jamui, Patna, and more, our initiatives reached far and wide, leaving a positive impact on numerous lives. NBJK remains dedicated to sustainable socio-economic progress, aiming for a better, empowered tomorrow!

08 December 2023, Patna: We’re glad to share that 35 individuals with disabilities have received vital aids and appliances through NBJK’s Community Based Inclusive Development & Rehabilitation program, supported by Bajaj Finserv, at Patna on 3rd December. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to fostering socio-economic inclusion and rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

At Mahila Charkha Samiti, the occasion was graced by esteemed guests: Dr. Vinay Thakur (Superintendent, Rajendra Nagar Communiity Hospital), Mr. Manoj Kumar (Human Rights Activist), and Mr. Jyoti Ranjan Das (Ward Councilor), who applauded our efforts in enhancing the lives of those facing disabilities.

The Program Manager Mr. Amit Ranjan Prasad highlighted NBJK’s ongoing dedication to empowering PwDs. Heartfelt thanks to our dedicated team members, Mr. Satyendra Kumar, Mr. Ritik Anand, and others, whose contributions made this event successful.

07 December 2023, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh): During 4-day inter-house volleyball tournament at NBJK run Surekha Prakash Bhai Public School, JP House emerged victorious, claiming the trophy after a thrilling final match against Gandhi House, securing a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-22, 16-14). Sumant Singh showcased exceptional skill and consistency, earning the well-deserved title of Best Player of the Tournament and a special prize from Principal Ms. Reena Pandey.

Congratulations to Sumant Singh and the entire JP House team for their stellar performance! Kudos also to the runners-up, Gandhi House, and all participating teams, Tagore House and Subhash House, for their spirited play. Principal Pandey commended all players for their active involvement, emphasizing the significance of sports in holistic education.

06 December 2023, Hazaribagh: In 2022-23, NBJK extended its impactful reach across Jharkhand-Bihar, touching lives in multiple districts. Here are some powerful highlights of our interventions:

  • General Health: Conducted 1246 health camps, reaching 590 villages, serving 21248 individuals with free medication.
  • Eye Care: 4 Eye Hospitals, 15 Vision Centers, and conducted 843 Screening Camps, facilitating 166491 OPD and 25647 cataract surgeries.
  • Women’s Health: Empowered 4400 women and girls with Menstrual Hygiene training, while raising Cancer Awareness among 4458 women and providing Cancer Care Insurance to 2225 women.
  • Environment & Hygiene: Ensured sanitation by removing 55 tons of garbage, recycling waste into 800 MT Vermi-compost & 360 MT Green Millboard.
  • Community Support: Provided safe drinking water to 1257 households and assisted 800 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) with UDID cards, vocational training, and essential assistive devices.

01 December 2023, Hazaribagh: On the invitation of Hon’ble MP of Hazaribagh Shri Jayant Sinha, a 10-member joint delegation of NRIs and foreign entrepreneurs is on a visit to Hazaribagh.

Today, during the breakfast session organized for the guests at Vinayak Hotel, the Secretary of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra, Mr. Satish Girija and Director Mr. Anand Abhinav met them and appealed to help in solving the problems of Hazaribagh district under Corporate Social Responsibility.

Shri Satish Girija said that in view of the problems like unemployment among local youth after mechanization of coal mines, lack of irrigation facilities-rainfall, migration, more than 50% BPL population and increasing number of eye patients in rural areas, there is a need to intervene immediately. NBJK can contribute to overcome these problems by running skill development training to youths, pond construction and cataract surgery campaigns across villages.

He said that if resources are made available, we can carry out these works at very low cost with the help of our experience and management ability. Shri Anand Abhinav presented a brief description of the programs run by NBJK through a PowerPoint presentation.

On this occasion, Mr. Arjun Sinha, Mr. Deepak Nath Sahay, Mr. Sunny Gupta from the MP’s office and Mr. Rajeev Singh, Kirti Rawat, Sanjay Kumar etc. from NBJK were present.

27 November 2023, Bodhgaya (Gaya): SBI Foundation’s support to the SBI Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels, in collaboration with NBJK, brought vital health awareness and eye screening to Larpur village in Mora Tal panchayat, Bodhgaya.

At the camp on 25th, 107 villagers of all ages engaged with Dr. S. S. F. Ameen, gaining insights on health concerns, preventive measures, and seasonal dietary advice. Md. Nayeem shared invaluable homemade remedies for common ailments.

The eye screening, led by Optometrist Mr. Shubham Kesri from LNJP Eye Hospital, identified 7 patients with cataracts, 1 with Pterygium, and 1 with DCR. Notably, free cataract surgeries will soon be provided at NBJK run LNJPEH Kajha (Wazirganj, Gaya) for those in need.

Thanks to the SBI Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels team—Mr. Ranjan Kumar, Mr. Dilip Kumar Sharma, and Mr. Randheer Giri—for their support. The villagers’ enthusiastic response underscores the importance of such initiatives in promoting community health.

27 November 2023, Sahibganj: In collaboration with NBJK and Usha International Ltd., a transformative 9-day residential training program has kicked off at Abhiyan Prashikshan Kendra, Habibpur, Sahibganj. This initiative, inaugurated by Mr. P. K. Varadiyar, Deputy Development Commissioner of Sahibganj, celebrates innovation and empowerment. Also Mr. Felix Tirkey (State Program Manager, UIL), Mr. Shailesh Kumar (Asst. Prog. Coordinator, NBJK) and Mr. Abdus Subhan (Head, APK) have graced the function.

With a focus on women’s financial independence, the Usha-SIDBI Swavlamban Silai School Training aims to equip 25 women from Taljhari and Sahibganj Sadar blocks with comprehensive sewing machine skills, from maintenance to designing and tailoring. Under the guidance of dedicated trainers Mrs. Sunita Devi and Mrs. Nibha Kumari, supported by Usha’s service engineers Mr. Balveer Sharma and Mr. Suneel Kumar, these trainees are mastering the art of creating in-demand apparel.

Upon completion, each participant will receive a certificate, guidebook, sign board and a brand new sewing machine to establish their own Usha Silai School. This impactful initiative emphasizes self-employment and community development. NBJK thanks everyone involved in making this vision a reality!

23 November 2023, Dumka: Celebrating a significant collaboration with V-Guard Industries Ltd. at LNJP Eye Hospital, Dumka! Together, we’ve embarked on a noble journey to restore sight to 150 underprivileged individuals through sponsored cataract surgeries.

President Mr. Girija Satish expressed heartfelt gratitude to V-Guard and highlighted NBJK’s 52-year legacy, fostering holistic development in Jharkhand-Bihar. LNJP Eye Hospitals, operational since 2001, have been a beacon of hope for over a million, with Dumka’s facility alone contributing 13,311 OPDs and 3,977 surgeries in 2022-23.

Mr. Arpan Ghoshal, V-Guard’s Jharkhand manager, shared the company’s altruistic endeavors, including donating ambulances and even the founder’s kidney to a truck driver.

Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, the manager of LNJP Eye Hospital-Dumka  has explained about four units of LNJPEH at Hazaribagh, Dumka, Gaya and Deoghar with cutting-edge technology and dedicated medical teams. Camp organizer Mr. Rajkumar Ghosh highlighted our rural outreach, conducting 81 camps and aiding over 15,000 patients last year.

Mrs. Maryla Kisku (LNJPEH-Dumka) extended heartfelt thanks to V-Guard for illuminating 150 lives, enabling them to embrace a brighter future. The V-Guard team visited the hospital, commending NBJK-LNJP’s exceptional facilities.

23 November 2023, Hazaribagh: NBJK launched a transformative month-long training program for 50 Persons with Disabilities.

Offering courses in computer skills, hospitality, and diverse vocational training, this initiative by Cheshire Disability Trust aims to bridge the gap between ability and opportunity. Our goal is to ensure PwDs’ empowerment through employment!

Welcoming all to this momentous occasion, our secretary Mr. Satish Girija shed light on NBJK’s legacy and commitment to championing inclusivity. Dr. Uttam Ojha (Consultant, CDT) emphasized the synergy needed between society and government for the welfare of differently abled individuals. This will be third such center by CDT after Ranchi and Jamshedpur, he said.

Together with CDT’s State Coordinator, Mr. Srijan Singh, NBJK promises for comprehensive training to PWDs in personality development, sign language, English proficiency, and more. We will try our best to link at least 70% of the trainees with employment or self-employment!

Many differently abled youths like Priyadarshini, Ajay, Vishal, Komal, and other remarkable individuals graced this inaugural function!

20 November 2023, Ranchi: Our child reporters met Hon’ble CM Mr. Hemant Soren to champion children’s rights in Jharkhand. With a pledge to elevate education standards, the CM emphasized the holistic growth of our future leaders through sports and creative pursuits alongside studies.

In a landmark move, the CM announced the expansion of the Savitribai Phule Yojana, now extending its empowering benefits to all unmarried girl children in govt. schools. This policy, offering Rs. 40,000 in installments to girls from class 8th to 12th, reaffirms the commitment to education and aims to combat child marriage while boosting school enrollment.

Graced by key figures like the CM’s Principal Secretary Mrs. Vandana Dadel, Secretary Mr. Vinay Kr. Choube, UNICEF Jharkhand’s Head Dr. (Mrs.) Kaninika Mitra with officers from UNICEF-NBJK, this momentous gathering propels us towards a brighter, more inclusive future for over 6.5 lakh school girls, with numbers set to soar.
