The program was initiated with the welcome note by Mr. Satish Girija (Secretary, NBJK) who has introduced the theme and discussed over Jharkhand Action Plan on Climate Change. This vital and complex issue needs proper attention of policy makers to be addressed urgently with a vision for future, he said. Ms Ajita Tiwary (INECC) has regretted over negligence on climate change in Jharkhand despite industrialization and found a key role for CBOs to fill the gap. Mr. Sanjay (CANSA, Delhi) has correlated nature caused disasters with climate change and Mr. Madhukar (Senior Journalist) has suggested to think for farmers as they are victims of the development with deforestation. Prof. R. Sharan has warned about the danger as trend of extremes occurs frequently in every season. Mr. Sanjay Basu Mallik pleaded for promotion of indigenous knowledge with farmers. 20 grass root organizations have participated in the workshop. Mr. Rajeev Singh and Mr. Rakesh Singh (NBJK program managers) have worked together to organize the event.
